August’s Full moon and chimney swifts invite us to Cowee Trail (behind Cowee School) for an evening "bathing in the forest" inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, therapeutic relaxation guided by sensory invitations. During this 2-hour experience, there will be a mix of leisurely strolling, observation, and reflection both as a group and individually. Be ready to experience the ever-changing Cowee Trail, restorative benefits of our natural world, and integrate these tools to practice presence into your daily life. We will conclude the evening with tea, a seasonal boxed dinner Picnic, and witness the chimney swifts flight before we all roost for the evening.
Consider bringing: weather appropriate clothes and shoes, water, snacks, something to sit on such as a yoga mat or blanket, and anything else to make our time outside more comfortable. Expressive elements of choice like journals or sketchbooks are also encouraged.
$75/person // Registration by 8/19 includes a seasonal vegetarian boxed dinner from Chef Chloé of Hilltop Pantry.
any tip at checkout will be donated to the Cowee Contemplative Trail Project.
