House of Fig

We steward spaces of creativity, curiosity, and connection. Through our work, we strive to strengthen intuition, embrace interconnection, and build collective confidence. Our approach is regenerative, Matriarchal, intergenerational, and rooted in authenticity. We understand that—just like the fig—ideas and fruitful actions are never fully produced in isolation.

Founder + Guide + Facilitator

Madison Traviss

I was born and raised in Iowa, where the rhythm of the streams and grasses taught me to find adventure in the seemingly ordinary. Driven by a fascination with how we connect, I studied Communications at the University of Iowa, earning certificates in Entrepreneurial and Nonprofit Management.

My career has been an ecosystem of industries across the world—from law firms and government agencies to conservation and the arts. In each space, I often felt like an outsider. However, that "outsider" lens became my greatest tool; it allowed me to see the invisible threads between conversations, bridge differing perspectives, and advocate for the quieter voices in the room. This led me, inevitably, to facilitation.

While living in Denver, a friend gifted me “How to Walk” by Thich Nhat Hanh. I initially used it for my two-mile walk commute, but those pages eventually guided me through much larger transitions: quitting my corporate job to walk 1,600 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, becoming a certified forest bathing guide, living seasonally in a bus for 3.5 years, and nestling in the gentle wisdom of the WNC mountains with my partner Heath and our Indi pup.

Throughout these limbs of my journey, I’ve grown fascinated by figs. They always seem to appear as gifts—right before or just after a major life choice—as if to affirm the branch I’ve chosen.

And so, House of Fig was created.
